NO / ANY

1. For person

a.       No one / Any one ( for subject person )

-          No one ( for positive sentence )

Kalimat positive yang berarti negative.

Example :  No one speaks English. ( tak seorangpun berbiacara bahasa inggris ).

                  No one will come to my house tonight. ( tak seorangpun akan datang

 kerumahku malam nanti ).

-          Any one ( for negative sentence )

Kalimat negative yang berarti negative.

Example : Any one does not speak English. ( tidak seorangpun berbicara bahasa

           inggris )

                                    Any one will not come to my house. ( tidak seorangpun akan datang

 kerumahku ).

b.      No one / Any one ( for object person ).

-          No one ( for positive sentence )

Example : I kissed no one yesterday. ( saya tidak mencium siapapun kemarin )

                  She comes to no one today. ( dia tidak datang kesiapapun jhari ini )

                       

-          Any one ( for negative sentensce )

Example : I did not kiss any one yesterday. ( saya tidak mencium siapapun

 kemarin ).

          She does not come to any one today. (dia tidak datang ke siapapun hari ini )

2. For thing / non person.

a.       Nothing / Anything ( for subject non person )

-          Nothing ( for positive sentence ).

Example : Nothing is impossible. ( tidak ada sesuatupun yang tidak mugkin )

                  Nothing is good. ( tidak ada sesuatupun yang baik ).

-          Anything ( for negative sentence )

Example : Anything is not impossible. ( tidak ada sesuatupun yang tidak mungkim ).

                  Anythiing is not good. ( tidak ada sesuatupun yang baik )

b.      Nothing / anything ( for object non person )

-          Nothing ( for positive sentence )

Example : I speak nothing. ( saya tidak bicara apa apa )

                  I do nothing. ( saya tidak melakukan apa apa )

-          Anything ( for negative sentence )

Example : I don’t speak anything. ( saya tidak bicara apa apa )

                  I don’t do anything. ( saya tidak melakukan apa apa )

3. No / Any + Noun

a.       As subject

-          No + Noun

Example : No animal eats this cake. ( tidak ada hewan yang makan kue ini )

                  No water is good for bathing. ( tidak ada air yang baik untuk mandi )

-           Any + Noun 

Example : any animal doesn’t eat this cake. ( tidak ada hewan yang makan kue ini ).

                  Any water is not good for bathing. (  tidak ada air yang baik untuk mandi )

b.      As object

-          No + Noun

Example : I buy no car. ( saya tidak membeli mobil apapun )

                 I bring no tool. ( saya tidak membawa peralatan apapun ).

-          Any + Noun

Example : I don’t buy any car. ( saya tidak membeli mobil apapun )

                  I don’t bring any tool. ( saya tidak membawa peralatan apapun ).

4. Menggunakan Kata Tanya ( question word )

a.        Person

-          Subject person

Example : Who brings math book ?

No one brings math book.

Any one doesn’t bring math book.

-          Object person

Example : whom does he kiss ?

                  He kisses no one

                  He does not kiss any one.

b.      Thing

-          Subject

Example : What is climbing the tree ?

                  Nothing is climbing the tree.

                  Anything is not climbing the tree.

-          Object

Example : What do they bring ?

They bring nothing.

They bring anything.

c.       No/Any + Noun

-          Subject

Example : what animal is climbing the tree ?

                  No animal is climbing the tree.

                  Any animal is not climbing the tree.

-          Object

Example : What book do they bring ?

They bring no book.

                  They don’t bring any book.
